The Bijou candlestick is designed by the internationally successful design studio Claesson Koivisto Rune.
"What is the minimum possible mass for a candlestick to stand stable, what is the smallest possible measurement? And what is the smallest possible form expression? The key word here is, of course, 'smallest'. The smallness itself makes Bijou likeable, cute, cute. Like a small piece of jewelry, a simple earring or maybe a signet ring – but for the table.
At the same time, Bijou is sculptural in a way that brings to mind larger forms. Two carefully proportioned shapes – a 'podium' and a 'vessel' – balance each other. The base is mirrored in the urn-shaped holder so that it can be perceived as either a floating cylinder or as a ball stacked on another. Bijou is deliberately refined in its expression so that it should fit as a solitaire or several, in a group or spread out. On the table, window sill or breakfast tray. In short, in all contexts of life, everyday as well as formal."
Never leave candles unattended. Do not let the candles burn all the way, but extinguish them before they reach the candle holder. Also keep in mind that some surfaces can be extra sensitive to heat. If you are unsure about the tabletop properties, you can exercise extra caution.
