The Bijou candle holder is designed by the internationally successful design studio Claesson Koivisto Rune.
"What is the smallest possible mass for a candlestick to stand stable, what are the smallest possible dimensions? And what is the smallest possible form expression? The key word here is of course 'minimum'. The smallness in itself makes Bijou likable, cute, sweet. As a small piece of jewelry, a simple earring or perhaps a heel ring - fixed for the table.
At the same time, Bijou is sculptural in a way that brings your mind larger forms. Two carefully proportioned forms – a 'podium' and a 'vessel' – balance each other. The base is mirrored in the urn-shaped holder so that it can be perceived as either a floating cylinder or as a sphere stacked on top of another. Bijou is deliberately refined in its expression so that it should fit as a solitary or several, in a group or spread out. On the table, windowsill or breakfast tray. In short, in all contexts of life, everyday and formal."
